The Fun Part

Finding your way is not a matter of luck! When everyone’s buzzing about a reef or checking out a shipwreck, they’re having a great time – until it’s time to go. Then they turn to you, because as a PADI Underwater Navigator, you know the way back to the boat.

What will I do?

Underwater navigation can be challenging, but in the PADI Underwater Navigator Specialty course, you master the challenge. You learn the tools of the trade, including navigation via natural clues and by compass.

You learn:

  • Navigation patterns
  • Natural navigation (without a compass)
  • Compass navigation
  • How to “mark” or relocate a submerged object or position from the surface
  • Underwater map making
  • Dive site relocation

What will I need?

You will need the PADI underwater navigation manual as completing the knowledge reviews are part of the course structure.

Pre requisites- To get your PADI Navigation qualification you should be a certified PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent.

Location- The course 3 dives over one/two days at our local dive venue - Cromhall.

Cost £175.00. This includes use of Seastyle school equipment (if required) crew pack and PADI certification.
The cost does not include transport and dive site entry fees

The PADI Underwater Navigation Course is part of the PADI Diver Continuing Education Program, designed to encourage divers to further their Knowledge and Skills under the safe supervision of professional instructors. It combines well with other such courses such as the PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy Speciality Course.
You may also count this Specialty certification toward one of the five required Specialities for the PADI Master Scuba Diver Certification.
